Progress Ltd. is an executive search firm licensed by the Ministry of Labor of Japan (紹13-ュ-040563). Progress is committed to the careful handling of personal information and the protection of individual rights. Progress ensures that such information remains confidential and is only used in accordance with this privacy policy. By providing us with your personal information, you agree to the collection, retaining, use, and disclosure of your personal information. Progress shall comply with the Privacy Protection Law in Japan and equivalent laws in other countries in which we have operations partners.
1. Scope and Collection of Personal Information
Progress may collect your personal information including (but not limited to) your (a) name, (b) contact details, (c) qualifications, (d) educational background, (e) employment history, (f) language skills, (g) professional accreditations, (h) career objectives, (i) salary information, and (j) any other information. We may also put together our professional assessment of you through direct contact and by gathering the opinions of others. Additionally, if you become a finalist for a position at a client company, we may also request references from you. All of the personal information we obtain is confidential and is only used and disclosed for the purposes explained below.

3. Security
Progress is committed to keeping personal information secure. Your data are stored in systems that are only accessible with company user IDs and passwords. There are no paper records as we destroy all paper resumes and notes after entering them into our database (except your business card if you choose to give it to us when we meet; your card will be stored in a locked container). Data that can be considered private will never be shared with anyone without your authorization. Your resume will never be sent to anyone without your knowledge and permission.
4. Access to Personal Information / Requests for Deletion / Disputes
You may request access, updating, or deletion of your personal information held at Progress by contacting our privacy officer (see contact below). Upon verifying your identity and the details of your request, the officer may accept your request partially or in full, or refuse it partially or in full if we are legally allowed and if we deem it advisable. In the case that we refuse your request, we will provide an explanation to you, including the legal basis of the refusal. Complete deletion may be refused if your file contains an assessment of you by us or by our client(s), or if it contains reference(s) on you provided by third parties.
If we are unable to accommodate your request to update/delete your personal information and this results in a dispute, we will make a note of such dispute in our records.
We reserve the right to charge an administrative fee of 3000 yen for processing your requests.
You may also request us to stop contacting you and we will comply with this request.
