To help you work effectively with headhunters, here is one piece of information that may save you a lot of frustration. Headhunters are different from registration-based recruiting companies in one important way: normally, we call you, not you us. Our business model is to look for great candidates for positions our clients engage and pay us for. Our business is not to look for a job for you (you don't pay us.) That said, we welcome your inquiry by email, as long as you understand that the chances of us introducing you to interesting positions immediately are pretty slim. This is because we only work on a few positions at any given time. Given enough time, however, the chances improve. If you are actively looking for a job now, the best advice we can give is that you contact as many recruiting firms as possible and register yourself on the well-known job websites.
Progress is committed to fairness, transparency and trust. Trust needs to be earned, and should we have the opportunity to get to know you, we will strive to earn yours. Our business is designed to protect your confidentiality, save you time and create fair outcomes for any job negotiations you may enter into with one of our clients.
Transparency is the key to fairness and so we will always give you the pros and cons of any opportunity we may be able to offer you, information on the average market salary you can expect, culture of our clients, our views on your talents and how they fit in (or don't fit in) with our clients. We strive to build long-term relationships and are not the type of recruiting company that drives a hard and fast sale. We are committed to Japan as our main market and hence aim to build an excellent reputation over the years.
